Every parent knows that the school holidays can be a challenge, especially where children have high energy levels and are at risk of bouncing off the walls at home.
However, there are some great schemes on offer in the area, including kid’s sports camps in Cheshire and Wilmslow.
We run holiday sports camps in Wilmslow, including the ever-popular Olympians Sports Holiday Camp at Wilmslow Leisure Centre. This course includes a range of sports to suit all interests, and is inclusive, fun and participative. It helps children of all ages and abilities to experience new sports and to develop a wide range of skills.
The sports on our agenda include basketball, gymnastics, tennis, hockey, athletics, tag-rugby, football and more. Every sport is tailored for the particular age and ability group (children are put into age and ability appropriate groups to get the most out of their session), and with plenty of fun games and skills sessions leading up to a tournament on the final day.
The format of the day
Each day runs from 9.30am to 3.30pm and starts with games and some fun warm-ups, before moving onto the first sport. The second sport follows a mid-morning break, and there are two further sports sessions after lunch. The session ends with a de-brief and warm-down before children are waved off to their parents. The structure of the sessions mimics school days, with two snack breaks and a lunch session, all of which are supervised.
Our focus
The emphasis is very much on life skills, new friendships and supportive coaching rather than pressured performance. Your children will learn the value of team work, communication, enthusiasm and giving things a go. They will also make plenty of friends and have tremendous fun. We provide plenty of awards, from skills evidence through to team work and enthusiastic participation. All of our sessions are led by highly qualified, experienced coaches and we maintain a high coach to learner ratio, working to our specially designed curriculum.
We also have theme days throughout the week and plenty of fun. And don’t worry, parents are given plenty of notice if any input is required. We provide all equipment, awards, coaching and support at the carefully chosen facilities and can also provide wrap-around care when needed. These courses get heavily booked in advance, so please contact us to register your interest and book onto the next intake. We look forward to welcoming your child at our next sports camp or at one of our other programmes; we run others including gymnastics, dance and more. Just get in touch to find out more.
