Week 3 Summer Holiday Club Highlights
Monday 3rd – Friday 7th August 2026
This week on our Around the World Adventure we jetted across the Atlantic Ocean to Africa. From music and art, to sports and rich cultural experiences, there was so much to learn, play and enjoy.
Little Drummers
Drumming is a vital cultural practice across most countries in Africa and serves many purposes: long-distance messaging, ceremonies, and spiritual connections.
In our Creative session, children made their own drums, decorating them with vibrant colours and patterns. Then, in our Cognitive session, everyone participated in a group drumming lesson— learning different hand strokes and striking zones to create different pitches and sounds.
Splash Zone!
After another few days of hot weather, children cooled off with Wet Wednesday activities including silly team games, epic water fights and even soak the coach.

Traditional Arts & Crafts
Kente is a craft from Ghana, West Africa and involved weaving of fabric, traditionally silk or cotton.
We created our own Kente designs by first weaving coloured paper together, and then using pen and coloured pencils to design marks and patterns in the woven squares.
It’s not only a fun and creative craft, but weaving is an excellent exercise to improve fine-motor skills and pattern making is a soothing and calming activity.

Week 4 of our Around the World Adventure takes us to Asia, home to Cricket, Table Tennis, Kabaddi and unique arts & crafts. Get ready for another epic adventure.
